Alongside our strong focus on international investment, the UK is a vital part of our operations.  During our latest financial year, we invested €1.2bn in UK companies.  On 31 March 2008, our UK portfolio had a value of €2.8bn.

Across the UK, we focus on Buyouts, Growth Capital, Infrastructure and Quoted Private Equity (QPE).  Our team of more than 100 UK investors is based in three locations:

• In Aberdeen, we have a centre of excellence focused on the oil, gas and power industry.
• In Manchester, our Buyouts and Growth Capital businesses partner established northern organisations
• Our London office is our largest UK site, working with a wide range of businesses across all our stages of funding.  Our London office is also 3i Group’s Head Office.

Through interacting regularly with colleagues across Europe, Asia and the US, our UK investors draw on a wealth of international expertise and contacts, which they use to help UK businesses access fresh techniques, form strategic partnerships and enter new markets.
